Raspberry Pi Portable Game Console

Just wanted to share a Raspberry Pi project that I’ve been thinking about. The idea is a portable retro game console, similar to the Nintendo Switch. In fact, it uses the Joycons as controllers connected to the Raspbian OS through a driver. It would be able to play some games directly on the Pi, and for more demanding PC games it would connect to a gaming computer at home via Parsec. Parsec is a service that allows you to stream games from a gaming PC to low powered devices such as a Raspberry Pi. The client only needs to be powerful enough to stream a video at the screen’s resolution.

I found a good 3D model that I can build off of to make the case. This model already has support for sliding in the Joycons! I would then attach a display that has a good resolution (not too high so the Pi and battery aren’t overpowered by the screen). Speaking of batteries, I don’t know too much yet, but I think that this battery might do the trick!

And of course it would run Vivaldi Browser for Raspberry Pi so you can look up on a walkthrough how to beat Zelda II.

Let me know what you think about it in the comments!
